Eaton Trail is a 2.3 kilometer lightly trafficked loop trail located near San Carlos, California that features a great forest setting and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, and running.
Starts downhill. Lots of stairs. Beautiful views.
This is a neat network of trails in a canyon between lots of schmancy houses. It doesn’t feel at all remote, but does feel like a special hidden place in the midst of the burbs. Decently busy on a Sunday late morning, but parking was still easy.
Pretty views, cool labyrinth, stroller friendly trails, some steps and some steep drop offs. Also wasp nest in big oak tree. You can hear it from far away
Very green with the recent rain. Not crowded and pretty easy. The loop is short but you get to see a lot - great views, bridges, trees, greenery, and a labyrinth.
Pretty hidden entrance to trail from street. Fun hike and plan to return again.
steep and a good workout. beautiful views of the bay.
Plenty street parking. Only saw 2-3 people on a Wednesday from 2pm-3pm. Great for beginners if u have no experience with being out alone- u can still see houses and hear the freeway/cars- a definite good trail! Bring hiking sticks, plenty water and always carry a good working whistle- happy hiking! Do the Labyrinth walk!
Somewhat shaded, narrow trail with nice inclines. Pretty view of the Bay from the top!
Good trail, not too long but good elevation climbing. About a third of it is in the shade, but the first bit and the last bit (up hill!) is in the sun.
Pretty much either all up or down. But nice views.
It was nice except for the 3 baby snakes I came along... and 2 active bee hives one on the trail head off Eaton park entrance by Appian way.
Don't miss the labyrinth at the top of the hill on the Hawk Hill Trail just below Loma Road: you can walk the labyrinth (usually done in silence) while you contemplate the commanding views of the Bay Area. Also a couple benches there and a trash can.
love this trail, better in the Spring with all the ffg forget me nots
Pretty much straight up and straight down. Beautiful view at the top! Street parking at the trailhead.
The loop through Eaton Park is closed. You can hike the trail to the start of the loop and see the goats.
It was so fun. We saw hundreds of goats. I wonder where they came from
Very scenic with views over the bay and glimpses of San Francisco. We went on a very hot day and the main walk from Loma Rd had no shade and is steep so hard work on the way back ! The trail itself is narrow , signage a little confusing but plenty of shade. A good workout and my watch actually clocked 4K and 26 stories following the route above !
Pretty fun quick trail. 30min start to finish for me and a good early workout. There is a shaded stepped trail to descend into the canyon. There is also a no shade straight shot down if you want to work a little harder!
Nice fairly easy trail but often very narrow and with mini-trails not marked on the map. A bit confusing with lots of forks. Good news is there’s cell service so it’d be hard to get lost. Nice amount of shade.
Loved it! Made a big loop followed by a small one. Totally recommended for almost an hour hike!
I went on a Saturday around 8:30 am. I ran Into a 4 sets of people (runners and families). The trials are narrow with major drops. My 2 small dogs were able to walk on a connected leash. So be careful. Learn to squeeze to allow others to pass. Definitely take a mask during Covid-19 because it’s impossible to keep at 2 meter distance when passing. Nice views of San Carlos hills.
Fun trail- went off trail a couple times due to some questionable signs but great view!
Hidden Gem ! Has about 4 different trails that all have their own personality but loop back to the same spot with the MOST AMAZING view of the Bay Area . The wolf trail is a hell of a walk back up and we went when it was pretty hot but it was a good work out . Other than that all the other lizard filled trails are nice and green and windy .
