Description

Agnes Falls Scenic Reserve is a small reserve located southeast of Melbourne/Narrm in the Strzelecki Ranges on Boonwurrung and Kurnai land, and that features the highest single span falls in Victoria at 59 metres where the Agnes River cascades down the rugged gorge. The reserve has several relaxing viewing areas amidst the native Blue Gum Forest, with tall shady trees and grassy banks along the Agnes River. The forest landscape also provides great habitat for many species of birds including Honeyeaters, Eastern Yellow Robins, Grey Fantails, Kookaburras, Currawongs and Crimson Rosellas.

This walking track leads from the carpark down to the viewing area overlooking the Agnes Falls and gorge. It is a short and pleasant 200 metre track alongside Blue Gum Forest, and there are some steps along the track too. You'll spot plenty of bird life darting across the trees above and there are several benches to rest and take in the landscape.Show more

This trail offers an extraordinary list of things to do on foot or on a bike. This is a trail through prime dairy country and the rolling hills of South Gippsland, offering great views of the river gorge, the sea across Corner Inlet, and expansive views of Wilsons Promontory as you wind through a natural forest. The Rail Trail (which this trail connects to in the south) also crosses a bridge across the Agnes River with a swimming hole for those looking to take a dip. You can then choose to join the Great Southern Rail Trail where you can go East onto the Long Jetty and Beach at Port Welshpool or West to the historic village at Toora.Show more
